Creating a network for cultural exchange

Our Mission

We created TPL to present world-class filmed readings of exceptional new plays for three reasons:

One

To give playwrights the chance to hear their work read by professional actors.

Two

To expose new work to theatre producers from around the world.

Three

To support artistic teams in their search for new work.

Who’s Involved

We are a B2B network who partner with theatre companies and producers around the world to present filmed readings of new plays. So far we’ve partnered with Papatango Theatre Company, Riverside Studios, Blue Touch Paper Productions, How Now Brown Cow, and African Women Playwright Network to present new works.

The filmed readings are uploaded to our secure platform to be accessed for free by our members. Our members are theatre professions from around the world, including agents, artistic directors, creatives, directors, literary managers, playwrights, producers, sponsors/backers, theatre programmers and venues.

What’s Involved

We present plays in partnership with outstanding theatre organisations across the globe to help us deliver a diverse programme of work that reflects the world we live in today.

Once you sign up as a member, you’ll be able to access our library of plays. Each reading also includes a synopsis, character breakdown, playwright biography, production history, information about the originating producer, and relevant contact information for rights requests and hellos.

Membership to TPL is completely free to ensure our writers and partners get the highest level of exposure to an international pool of theatre decision makers.

“Over my two and a half decades of producing theatre professionally, I have truly appreciated that theatre cannot happen meaningfully without collaboration and partnership. Bringing like-minded passionate people together, with different and complimentary skill sets, is how great theatre is made. I am proud to be part of TPL and I am excited about the meaningful, bridging opportunities we are able to offer.”
